A flame needs oxygen or it will extinguish. Your creative flame is similar. Its oxygen is inspiration in the form of experiences, environment, interesting things, challenging thoughts, and such.
Below are five tidbits to give you a boost. If you’re not subscribed already, do so now to get more stuff like this in your email inbox.
Idea | Be Around People
We’re all painfully aware of how COVID isolated us from friends, coworkers, strangers, and, in some cases, our own family. After a while, we simply got used to not being around people. That’s not good.
Other people inspire us in surprising and wonderful ways, sometimes unwittingly. And we may inspire them. Let’s not rob ourselves of the opportunity to interact and inspire each other.
Book | “How I Built This” by Guy Raz
Whether you’re an entrepreneur or not, you’ll love “How I Built This” by Guy Raz. It shows how ordinary people do extraordinary things. You’ll find yourself going through all sorts of emotions as you hear about the trials and tribulations of people just like you who had a dream and went for it.
Everything about this book is inspiring. The book is based on the author’s popular podcast and listening to it is like listening to one long incredible podcast. What’s best is that, if you like the book, there are a ton of podcasts for more of the same thing.
Video | “Anything You Can Fit In The Circle I’ll Pay For”
Do you sometimes feel that the only way to get ahead is to promote yourself over and over again? I struggle with it. I have to do something to get the word out about what I do, but how do I do it without coming across as conceited and self-absorbed (which I fear is how I’m being received most times)?
Enter Mr. Beast. The video above has over 170 million views, and rightfully so. I heard about Mr. Beast from a book called “The YouTube Formula” by Derral Eves. I checked him out and he’s the real deal. I dare you to watch the video and not get teary-eyed.
Self-Care | Work Those Legs!
I was talking with a buddy of mine about health. He was big into fitness for a spell. In any case, he suggested that, if you have limited time, work out your legs. In his experience, having stronger legs leads to advantages all around.
I believe this to be true. When your legs are strong, you have more pep in your step which leads to more action in your day overall. How is this inspiring? When you’re body is active, your mind is active. When your mind is active, it attracts inspiration.

Love this. Number 1 about being around people makes me sad that I am not around you for our coffee and inspiration meetings.
