Hello! Odd to see you! :)
Do you remember when you were a kid and you thought that the other side of the mirror was another universe? What would you say if I told you that could be true? I bet you would say I’m strange. But am I…?

Magic Mirror on the Wall?
This blew my mind. In the Disney movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” the evil queen DOESN’T say, “Mirror, mirror on the wall…” No, she ACTUALLY says, “Magic mirror on the wall…” Crazy, right? Look it up.
This is the epitome of the Mandela Effect - that alternate universe where things are different ever so slightly. And since there’s a mirror and things are different, well, you get the point.
More Than a Black Mirror
You may be familiar with the TV show “Black Mirror.” Have you ever wondered why it’s called that? The obvious answer is that the black mirror is the reflective quality of your phone or TV screen when it is off. Makes sense. And there’s a rabbit hole to scurry down with that explanation. That said, I’ve recently found out that the black mirror may hint at something far more insidious.
Here’s a fun and disturbing experiment for you and a friend to perform:
Get a piece of copy paper or a magazine, anything that is larger than your hand.
Hold that piece of paper flat up against a mirror with your index finger
Have your friend move to a point in the room where he/she can see the reflection of your hand behind the paper
Now, move your fingers.
The mirror will reflect the actions of your moving fingers behind the paper. How can the mirror do that when its view is being blocked? Some folks try to explain it with light reflecting off the other surfaces of the room. Others state that the observer is not seeing what’s there but what their brain tells them to see - like an overlay of reality with our mental perception of reality. (More on that later.) In any case, it’s weird!
Then there’s this tidbit of creepiness (click here or on the image below to see the video on X):
Magic Mirror After All
Going back to the black mirror, I’ve read that mirrors hold strange magic; used by those crazy occultists. This belief goes back as far as mirrors themselves and is used to this day. We hear the term “smoke and mirrors” when it comes to magicians and illusionists, but is something deeper afoot? You be the judge.
I’ll close with this: if our eyes don’t necessarily see what is in front of us but what our brains perceive is in front of us, how can we see a reflection? We would see a reflection of a manifestation of the projection of our brain. So, the image in the reflection is filtered through our mind’s eye. Therefore, what’s in the mirror remains a mystery… and possibly that proverbial portal to another dimension. (Cue the “Twilight Zone” theme song!)
